EPCA Cookies Policy

(Last updated: 22 November 2018)

As is the case for a majority of big websites, to make the EPCA website work properly, we sometimes place small data files called cookies on the device that you use to access it.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is downloaded on to your internet connected device when you visit a website. Cookies are used by many websites and can do a number of things e.g. remembering your preferences, recording what you have put in your shopping basket, and counting the number of people looking at a website. The cookie-related information is not used to identify you personally.

There exist many types of cookies, which can be divided in four main categories:

First Party Cookies are cookies which are set by this website and can only be read by this website.

Third Party Cookies are cookies which are set by third parties and that are used for different services (for example, website analytics or advertising).

How and why do we use cookies?

Cookies set by EPCA

Most of the cookies set by EPCA are temporary cookies, which are automatically removed from your browser after 24 hours. You do not need to take any action to remove them.

Enabling these cookies is not strictly necessary for the website to work but it will provide you with a better browsing experience. We therefore encourage you to accept the cookies we serve. You can delete or block these cookies, but if you do that some features of this site may not work as intended.

Some cookies are strictly necessary cookies for the access of the part of the website reserved to our members and will collect your login details. These cookies are listed below as “strictly necessary cookies”.

If you attend webinars/videoconferences organized by EPCA, our technical partner will also set cookies that are necessary or optional, as indicated below.

Third party cookies

We use third party services like Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a tool for web analytics that allows website owners and applications to better understand the behavior of their users. This tool may use cookies to collect anonymous information and generate reports on usage statistics without personally identifying individual visitors to Google. This information is helpful to plan and maintain the service. Most of these cookies are not essential for providing the services your request from us and can be blocked.

Also, some videos embedded in our pages use a cookie to anonymously gather statistics on how you got there and what videos you visited.

List of cookies

A complete list of the cookies that we use and their duration is provided at the end of this policy.

How to control cookies?

If you wish to restrict or block the cookies which are set by our or any other website, you can do this through your browser settings (please refer to your browser’s user manual). You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work. EPCA has also embedded the tool “CookieHub”™  into its website that allows you to directly manage which of the Performance cookies you accept when browsing our website. You can modify your choices at any time.
